When Communities Lose Everything: Providing School Bags and Relief Support to Children After a Devastating Fire in the Philippines

When leaders from The North Beacon Project traveled to the Philippines earlier this year, they learned of a devastating fire that displaced more than 900 individuals and disrupted the lives of hundreds of children and families.

During a visit to the Philippines, leaders of The North Beacon Project learned of a devastating fire that displaced more than 900 individuals in a nearby community. Homes were lost. Belongings were gone. And for hundreds of children, school, routines, and stability disappeared overnight.

In response, NBP immediately mobilized an emergency outreach effort—distributing school bags, supplies, and relief while meeting with local officials to discuss long-term recovery and partnership opportunities.
